The Alumni Meet 2026 of Karnataka Theological College (KTC), held on 3 - 4 February 2026, brought together alumni, faculty, students, and church leaders under the theme “Together Again.” The two-day gathering celebrated fellowship, theological engagement, and a renewed commitment to shared ministry and institutional partnership.
The meet commenced on 3 February with an Opening Service led by Rev. Christopher. Rev. Shaila Shree delivered the sermon, reflecting on the biblical vision of reunion, shared faith, and renewed fellowship in Christ.
The inaugural session witnessed vibrant participation from alumni across dioceses and denominations. The convenors, Rev. Binu C. John and Rev. Gracy Christina Mary, formally welcomed and received the Chief Guest and dignitaries. The Principal, Rev. Dr. H. M. Watson, delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the continuing bond between the College and its alumni. The meet was inaugurated by Rt. Rev. Hemachandra Kumar, Bishop, CSI Karnataka Southern Diocese, along with the Principal and the convenors.
A significant milestone of the gathering was the formal adoption of the KTC Alumni Bylaws, presented by Rev. Sagar Sundar Raj and Rev. Dr. HM Watson, approved after discussion.
The academic and ministerial sessions provided meaningful theological engagement. Rev. Dr. Sandeep Theophil, Rev. Baila Channa Keshavalu, Rev. Dr. Christopher George, and Rev. Dr. F. Anilkumar served as moderators for the various sessions.
Rt. Rev. Dr. C. L. Furtado emphasized holistic ministerial formation rooted in calling, leadership, and professional integrity, underscoring the shared responsibility of Church and Seminary in shaping faithful leaders.
Rev. Dr. Shashikala Alva reflected on pastoral vocation in light of Missio Dei, presenting ministry as active participation in God’s redemptive mission amid contemporary social challenges.
The Eucharist Service on 4 February, led by Rev. Grace Christina Mary, enriched the gathering spiritually. Rev. Prasanna Kumar preached on partnership in ministry, perseverance, and stewardship of legacy within the Body of Christ.
Bishop Sampath Kumar affirmed that theology encompasses both Orthodoxy (right belief) and Orthopraxy (right living), rooted in the identity and calling of God’s people.
A panel of lay professionals - Mr. Santhosh Jonas, Dr. Vishal Samartha, Mr. Joshua Marvin, and Ms. Grace Komala - offered thought-provoking insights from a lay perspective, encouraging pastors toward authentic, praxis-oriented leadership in today’s context.
Institutional updates were presented by Rev. Dr. H. M. Watson and Rev. Sagar Sundar Raj. Alumni representatives Rev. George Fredricks and Rev. Freny Israel highlighted the importance of strengthening partnerships, mobilizing resources, nurturing spiritual excellence, and practicing faithful stewardship in a rapidly changing technological age.
The Alumni Meet 2026 reaffirmed the enduring bond between KTC and its alumni. The newly elected office bearers were installed and blessed by Rt. Rev. Hemachandra Kumar. “Together Again” was not merely a theme, but a lived experience of communion, calling, and common mission in the life of Karnataka Theological College.
The smooth coordination of the Alumni Meet was made possible through the dedicated service of the Student Leaders of various subcommittees: Miss Sheeba, Mr. Samson, and Mr. David Gokak.
The Report Drafting Committee comprised Rev. Hemalatha John, Rev. Melvin Mullur, Mr. Paul Benjamin, Mr. Mohan Raj, and Mr. Suneeth, who collectively documented and shaped the proceedings of the event.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the Principal, expressing gratitude for the spirit of unity and collaboration that marked the gathering.
